About The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting on the day duties
  • Prescribing and advising on medication
  • Minor injuries and illnesses
  • Triage
  • Prescribing
  • History Taking
  • Working autonomously and under pressure
  • Leadership
  • Attend Practice Meetings
  • Perform audit of aspects of practice nursing work.
  • Refer patients to appropriate disciplines within the Primary Care Team and to outside agencies, with GPs involvement where appropriate
  • Work as a member of a coordinated Nurse team and take part in joint projects
  • Attend such training courses as may be required to maintain professional qualifications and expertise
  • Have an interest in, and commitment to, continuous professional development

Other  

  • Keep appropriate written and computer records of all patient contacts and all other appropriate aspects of practice nursing work
  • Work closely with site manager to discuss relevant aspects of administration

  • Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards.
  • Reporting potential risks identified.

All staff must be aware of the responsibilities placed on them under the Health & Safety at Work Act and 1992 EC Directive on Working with Visual Display Screen Equipment.
